Product Description
Irish drums, Latin drums, drums from the Middle East and India: whether they’re framed, staved, carved, or clay, the basics for making every one of them is here, provided by a master of the style. Photos colorfully display the culturally diverse drums and construction techniques in an easy-to-follow fashion, from choosing and attaching a drumhead to learning lacing logistics and knot-tying to working with hoops and adjustable hardware.

| Customer Reviews: Good starting point November 2, 2009 F. Carter (Akron, Ohio) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is very clear and easy to follow. Pictures included are better than most books I could find. I have used methods in here to make several drums and have not been disappointed.
Took to long and charged to much postage! April 7, 2009 Linda Timothy-wood (Eagle River, Alaska) 0 out of 8 found this review helpful
Making Drums was the book I wanted a long with Gourd Art. The Books are perfect for my arts and crafts business [...]
Great Information, very nice photos August 23, 2010 mimi (michigan) Since I am making my first drum, I needed a reference guide and this book is a great starting point. There are a lot of tips and instructions, and I was able to get many ideas for customizing my own drum. The photos are very helpful and plentiful, and it has easy to read instructions. I found it to be exactly what I needed and am now in the process of making my drum.
