The revised edition has improved editing and better sequencing of materials, compared to the original book published in 1978. As a Suzuki piano teacher, I recommend it for all children up to the age of seven and for other persons interested in learning by ear. The pieces in it are beautiful and are carefully arranged sequentially to make learning by ear easy. The book has few instructions for use and therefore should be guided by a trained Suzuki teacher. I recommend that all persons who purchase this book also purchase the recording of the book for listening. Also, you will need a copy of Dr. Suzuki's book, Nurtured By Love, to understand the philosophy behind the method.
