Great beginner chord book December 7, 2007 D. Reynolds (Oklahoma City) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I came across this book by accident at a local book store. I've seen many different guitar chord charts (and posters) both online and in print - but I bought this one because...
1 - I'm a beginner for the most part (I play rhythm guitar/chords mostly out of easy guitar or fake books, and I can transpose some of the music on the fly so that I can sing with it)
2 - The fingerings in this book are all for the first 4-5 frets (I'm not good at barre chords yet)
3 - It is thin enough to fit underneath my guitar in my case
4 - It was only $3 (retail)
I've only used it a little bit and I'm very pleased with it.
Please be advised - this is a BOOK and not a poster chart. It has all the keys (A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab) and traditional chords: major, minor, 7th, sus, major 7th, diminished 7th, (and a couple others I'll add later).
If you are playing easy guitar - then this is a good reference. I like it better than the Incredible Chord Finder (also by Hal Leonard) because the printing is black on white (no grey), the book lies flat when open, and the other reasons I mentioned above (no barre chords ... no really advanced fancy chords).
This book won't appeal to everyone, but I'm very pleased with it.
Excellent reference chart February 1, 2010 J. Weber 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a simple reference chart for the most common (~300) chords. I would recommend anyone learning guitar to buy it. Much easier than the wacky websites that do not always have the correct chords (I realize there are multiples for many chords)
An excellent feature is the suggested finger placements that really is useful for transitions.
neat item June 20, 2010 R. Kearney (Niagara on the lake, Ont, Canada) I bought this product as a filler to bring up the the total for shipping and it is good value, not much under $5.00 that are this good a value.
As Advertised.... March 16, 2007 Fred H. (Pittsburgh, PA USA) 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
A poster with chords on it. If you hang it on your wall, you will be able to see the fingering for chords. Then you can play them and people nearby might even dance.
Limited usage January 18, 2007 S. Gibson 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was hoping to get a quick reference to different chords I encounter in worship music, but this seamed to only have the basic chords and not the "non-normal" chords that are often used in music now days.
